Remember me

Scripture
WALHT: Examine the words from Jesus remember me and discuss these
Luke 23:39-43
The scripture is set at the time of Jesus’....
Where the two criminals are on the cross with Jesus, one of the criminals recognised Jesus as the messiah “Are you the messiah? Save yourself and us!”. But the second criminal had then realised they're there because they have done wrong things. He then also recognised Jesus and knew that Jesus did not do anything wrong. He then said “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom .” Jesus then replied, saying he will truly remember him and he would walk into heaven with him.

Choices, Judgement and life after death

WALHT:  Describe the relationship between the person one becomes life, and one's life after death.

In our lives we are judged on our choices and behaviour, when we pass away we enter into purgatory and wait as we examine our conscience and God will give us his reasoning on how we lived our lives on earth. If we should go to heaven or hell.

As part of our independent reading programme we use Kiwikidsnews to learn about news in New Zealand (national news) and around the world (international news).
Walht:  Read closely to analyse an article and to think critically about the messages within them.

1. Find a quote from the main person in this news article?
There has been no quote held in this article

2. In your own words describe what happened in this news article.
In Aotearoa/New Zealand, New Zealanders around the country have taken part in celebrating Guy Fawkes. Thousands of people have gathered around public firework exhibits. In Auckland there were exhibits at Waitakere, and also at Orewa Beach. In Christchurch, there was a themed David Bowie firework display. But Wellington, has claimed of having the country’s largest fireworks exhibit. Over the past few years public exhibits have became more common. Controls over fireworks have become tighter, having limited sales and uplifting the purchase age to 18. Last year Fire departments were called out to 418 firework incidents, going down from 2007 which had 618 reports.

3. Find out where this event took place and include some information about this place.
Auckland -  Auckland is the largest polynesian city in the world. Auckland is also known as “The City of Sails”, because it has more boats than anywhere else in the world. Auckland features the tallest building in New Zealand, the Sky Tower (328 meters)

4. Tell us when this event happened and explain what might happen in the future.
November 5th 2016, I think in the future Guy Fawkes might get banned because there have been so many incidents.

5. Explain in your own words why this event took place.

This event took place because it is celebration and is a tradition of lighting fireworks because of Guy Fawkes

St. Mother Teresa

I chose Mother Teresa, because she strove to be the best she could. Mother Teresa was a missionary and a Catholic nun. She never gave up and never disappointed anyone. She had confidence, faith and hope which helped her to guide her and help others on the way of her life journey. She cared and treated others with respect and she had determination and perseverance in herself.
